What’s the role of The Careers Office
in society and in business?

We’re connecting and educating young people, whilst supporting employers to break down social barriers and glass ceilings. Through these two streams, we create equal opportunities to the world of work.

We believe the workplace of Global Britain must be diverse and nurture inclusivity. The Careers Office work with professionals from every industry to link them to schools and universities. We open doors for young people, helping them develop the resilience and confidence needed to overcome the barriers of access to learning and future employment.

The Careers Office targets support at secondary schools with high levels of Free School Meals and students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

R

The Careers Office will work with a wide range of industries to support student access to opportunities and successful entry into careers and professions.

R

The Careers Office will work with universities who are ambitious about Widening Participation and Fair Access. We try to ensure that  students from disadvantaged backgrounds and neighbourhoods, with low participation in higher education are contacted. We offer opportunities to break the barriers to access higher education and professions where they lack the social and cultural capital through a family and friends network.
