Deborah Streatfield

Founder

Deborah set up The Careers Office in 2020. The social movement Black Lives Matter, and Diversity and Inclusion in companies, has illuminated the need for change.
There is a massive hunger to galvanise the corporate world. Students across the UK including Northern Ireland, are introduced to companies to widen their talent pool and give every student the same chance of success.
Working with young students and adults for over 40 years is testament to Deborah’s passion for changing lives.
Throughout her career Deborah has juggled the demands of 6 children, including at one time 5 children under 9 and 5 different schools. She passionately believes that every student should be treated with patience, care and empathy as if they were her own son and daughter and with a promise of conveying the same drive and ambition.

After a rewarding and varied career, I have always felt that I should give back and help others access the opportunities that I have had to progress my career.  When Deborah contacted me about The Careers Office, I knew this was a great charity and a fabulous opportunity to become involved in helping get those who haven’t had the advantages I’ve had to get on the corporate ladder and just as importantly, to educate employers about the vast pool of brilliant talent that exists from this young people coming from less privileged backgrounds.  I am delighted to be involved.

Administration Volunteer

I am Sam and I am a mum of three girls. I have worked with The Careers Office for a few months now, performing various administration tasks.
I became involved with The Careers Office because I liked the work that they do, working with underprivileged students to help them gain valuable experiences and career insights, I believe that they are making a big difference to students who need help the most and would otherwise have limited opportunities, I am proud to be part of their organisation.
